Beclomethasone Tables:

Pharmacokinetics

Bioavailability Peak plasma level Plasma half-life Active metabolites Elimination
variable limited* not established 15 hours** marginal importance mostly extrarenal
*The amount that is absorbed gastrointestinally depends on the type of application and is between 25% (oral inhalation with large rotacaps) and 60-95% (nasal sprays). However, only small amounts are bioavailable due to a pronounced presystemic metabolism.

**This value takes account of the (marginally active or inactive) metabolites. Onset of effect after 1 to 2 weeks.
