When high doses of cyclophosphamide are given the concomitant administration of mesna is recommended as a precaution against hemorrhagic cystitis. Normally, three doses of 4 mg/kg are injected in 4-hour intervals. The injection solutions can be preserved for 8 hours after the fabrication.
