Isosorbide Dinitrate: Risk Groups

Pregnant women:
Not generally contraindicated during pregnancy; however, there are no studies involving humans.

Nursing mothers:
No adequate studies are available.

Children:
Hardly used; no adeqaute studies available.

Elderly people:
Mind the danger of hypotension at the beginning of treatment: low dosage!

Renal failure:
No dose adjustment necessary.

Liver insufficiency:
Increased bioavailability when there is cirrhosis of the liver. Necessity of a dose reduction is not clear.
