Our Comment:
If one avoids long-term administration of metoclopramide and its the use in children and young women, the drug is a helpful antiemetic drug for the practice. Many other antiemetic agents (e.g. phenothiazines) can also cause extrapyramidal disturbances. Domperidone, which dose not cause these side-effects, is not as thoroughly documented. Preference is to be given to an 5HT3 antagonist such as ondansetron for cisplatin treatment.
