Our Comment:
For the therapy of acute angina pectoris, nitroglycerin is still the drug of choice. However, nitroglycerin must not be forgotten in connection with pulmonary edemas and hypertension emergencies (possibly intravenous). For long-term treatment of coronary heart disease or heart failure, isosorbide dinitrate is better documented.
