Timolol: Risk Groups

Pregnant women:
Almost no data available, use is therefore not recommended.

Nursing mothers:
Small amounts can be traced in breast milk; can be given during breast-feeding period.

Children:
Little documentation; better avoided in neonates. Generally eye drops must be used with great caution in children.

Elderly people:
Mind respiratory and cardiovascular problems and potential interactions.

Renal failure:
Generally no dose adjustment necessary.

Liver insufficiency:
Due to the predominantly hepatic metabolism, a dose reduction is recommended when there is liver insufficiency.
